Now in its second year this competition is sponsored, and indeed was instigated by, Hobgoblin Music in Newport Pagnell. David Soulsby, proprietor of Hobgoblin, is enthusiastic in his support of live music in Milton Keynes and saw a chance to combine two creative art forms and promote local tallent at the same time.
And so was born the annual 'Live Music' competition. The idea of which was to promote and record the very good live music scene here in Milton Keynes and its surrounding area. Last years competition was quite broad in its aspect in that its subject was simply live music. This year however David has narrowed the scope of the competition slightly in that the subject matter is this year more precisely 'Live Music - Outdoors'.
So there we have it, not only live music but live music outdoors. With a wealth of outdoor festivals in Milton Keynes, Newport Pagnell, Stony Stratford and a large number of the outlying vilages there should be no limit to the possible opportunites available.
This years competition will once again be held on the same night as the Digital Competition, March 9th 2006, with the closing date three weeks prior to this on February 16th 2006.
